JSC Komdragmetall of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has implemented various large-scale projects constructing large healthcare, education, culture, and sport facilities, replete with special equipment, such as: the Yakutsk Clinical-Diagnostic Center, the Pokrovsk Maternity Hospital, the Natural Sciences Faculty Complex, the Financial-Economic Institute and dormitories of the Ammosov Northeastern Federal University, the Yakutsk Academic Theater, the Higher School of Music, the National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Chapaevo Library and Exhibition Hall, Tuymaada Stadium, the House of the Peoples of the North, and the Gabysheva National Art Museum. Other projects operated are the Yakutsk Airport Facilities and the Yakutsk Dairy Plant, in addition to purchasing road maintenance and cleaning equipment.
Komdragmetall has been charged by the government to implement two of the largest state programs located in the Republic: the 1992-2000 Target Program of the Republic entitled “The rehabilitation of destroyed ecosystems and financial compensation for damages associated with the violation of traditional ways of life of the indigenous peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).” And the Federal Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Sakha (Yakutia).
Within the framework of these programs, Komdragmetall financed the construction of such facilities as: the Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, the pipeline of the Lena river and Lake Tuora-Kel, water supply facilities for the trans-river regions in the republic, the Pedagogical School in Vilyuisk, Churapchinsky Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, the State circus of the republic, the Berkakit-Tommot-Yakutsk railway, the Vilyuiskaya Hydroelectric station, the 1st stage of the Kyzyl-Syr-Yakutsk gas pipeline, a gas processing plant in Yakutsk, the Financial and Economic Institute, the Tygyn Darkhan hotel, the connection of natural gas to neighborhoods in and around the city of Yakutsk, and many others. Also, realizing the need to develop housing and community services in Yakutsk, specifically the water and sewage systems, Komdragmetall has allocated funds to construct a wastewater treatment plant and to renovate sewage collectors, pumping stations and water intake facilities. This was part of the Target Program “Housing and community services of Yakutsk in the 21st century.”
Due to Yakutsk’s esteemed position as capital of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), from 2002 (the city of Yakutsk’s 370th birthday) until 2007, 2.9 billion rubles were allocated to architectural and landscape improvements around the city by Komdragmetall, as decreed by the President. The money was spent on housing construction, the repairs of streets, squares and schools, and the restoration of historic buildings in the Old Town district of Yakutsk.
Since 2008, the contributions from Komdragmetall to the development of Yakutsk include the construction of housing and moving expenses for 98 families who had previously been in run-down buildings.
Komdragmetall has also allocated 178 apartments to provide housing for WWII veterans and for citizens participating in the implementation of the Pilot Project of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to stimulate the construction of residential buildings in the “Yakutsk City” neighborhood.
In general, Komdragmetall has taken part in the construction and remodeling of more than 145 building projects that support education, science, health care, culture and sports, ecology, production, life support, and in the implementation of various social programs, such as the “Program for the development of housing and communal services in Yakutsk” , the “Housing” project of the Republic, the “Air Transport Development in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)”, the “Development concept for rural industry in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)”, the “Connection to natural gas of settlements in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)”, the “Social and economic development of the capital of the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia)” and others.
